AQT Selected as One of Seven Partners in €122 Million German High-Tech Quantum Computing Agenda

AQT Germany will be one of the seven members in the consortium of research institutions and industry partners in a bid to build one of Europe’s most advanced quantum computers.

AQT joins €122 Mio project on Germany’s High-Tech Agenda

We are proud to be part of a major new German quantum computing initiative. As a member of the seven-partner consortium led by QUDORA, AQT will contribute to the development of a next-generation trapped-ion quantum computer under the NFQC-1k project. Selected by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the project represents an investment of approximately €122 million over up to five years. The goal is a demonstrator with at least 1,000 physical qubits and 50 logical qubits, verified through a Quantum Fourier Transform, plus a pilot production line for ion-trap quantum processor units.

A consortium bringing science and industry together:

  • TU Braunschweig
  • Leibniz University Hannover
  • Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt
  • NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH
  • Forschungszentrum Jülich
  • AQT Germany GmbH

For AQT, the collaboration marks an important opportunity to bring its expertise and technology to a landmark effort advancing the future of quantum computing.
