IVY

Optical filter cavity module for suppression of high frequency phase noise

Narrow linewidth laser light with high spectral purity is essential for a wide range of AMO experiments. IVY offers passive suppression of high frequency phase noise by combining a patented evacuated optical cavity design with PDH locking.

IVY

High frequency phase noise suppression for narrow linewidth lasers

IVY provides you with the spectral purity your experiment needs in a compact, rack-mountable solution.

This module features an evacuated Fabry–Pérot filter cavity, a camera for remote mode monitoring, and single-mode polarisation-maintaining fiber connectors for the input and output beams. An optical set-up for fiber noise cancellation is available as an add-on, without locking electronics. Furthermore, the module has space for housing a tapered amplifier supplied by a third party laser vendor, making IVY suitable for high power applications.

Lower your noise floor with IVY

IVY drastically improves the performance of our quantum computers by increasing two-qubit gate fidelities.

Phase noise suppression

With a cavity finesse of at least 10000 and a typical linewidth of 150 kHz, IVY acts as an effective suppressor of high frequency phase noise, passively filtering frequencies ranging from hundreds of kHz all the way to GHz.

The IVY cavity is stabilized to the carrier laser using the Pound-Drever-Hall technique, compatible with most off-the-shelf locking electronics.

The maximum output power from the cavity is 20 mW, however the module can house a tapered amplifier for achieving higher optical power as required by your research.

If you are working with other wavelengths and would like to improve the spectral purity of your laser light, then AQT would be very happy to assist you. Please contact our product specialists to discuss your needs and explore our possible solutions.
